Yummy Tortilla Recipe! :)

The only complaint I have about these homemade tortilllas is that I didn't made them sooner! They are SUPER yummy, fun to make, and contain no icky aluminum like ones you buy in the store! I found this recipe at The Veggie Table. This recipe makes about 6 tortillas. For this recipe you will need:

  • 1 cup of unbleached flour ( I use a mixture of unbleached and wheat)
  • 2 tablespooon oil (I use coconut oil)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • touch of salt, to taste 
  1. Mix flour (salt) and oil together well. You should use your hands to mix the oil into the flour so well that it appears to be damp.
  2. Slowly mix in the water. Stir well.
  3. Let sit for about an hour.
  4. Seperate dough into six balls.
  5. Flatten them out in sphere shapes, not using any oil or flour while kneading.
  6. Cook on ungreased frying pan or wok on low to medium heat, until slightly brown on each side.
  7. Put tortillas onto a plate inside of a large plastic bag. Close immediately after adding each tortilla as the steam makes them pliable.
