Recipe for a sweet, yummy, fruity lemonade- sugar free! :)

Share this post:

This is a drink that I came up with in an effort to satisfy two cravings, one for lemons, the other for something sweet. This drink tastes like a super sweet, tangy and fruity popsicle before it is frozen. Remember those kinds in the box that are basically artificial color, sugar (or high fructose corn syrup), and water? Well this tastes like that times 100! :) This will make one drink. You will need:

  • Juice from half of a lemon (freshly squeezed) ( Thanks Mom for the lemon juicer! :)
  • 1-2 packs of NuNaturals stevia (it's yummy)
  • 10 oz. of water
  • a fruit flavored tea bag- choose the flavor you like best. I like Celestial Seasonings blueberry or Raspberry. Yum!
  1. First I put the water in my cup.
  2. Then I pour in the lemon juice.
  3. I add my stevia.
  4. Then I add one tea bag, and let steep for a few minutes. The lemon juice really speeds up the process.
  5. Then I remove the tea bag, stir well, and drink! :)
  6. Repeat as needed. lol
  7. If you want to make this on a grander scale, just multiply the ingredients by however many servings you need.
Until next time.... God bless!

Silk Pure Almond Milk Product Review

Silk is one of the leading companies producing milk alternatives. They have almond milk and soy milk in different varieties... vanilla, very vanilla, unsweetened, chocolate....

Silk almond milk is vegan & my favorite variety for making Vegan Iced Mochas is pictured above, Vanilla PureAlmond Silk. During the week we use something different, as I prefer to go sugar free most of the time. However, the texture and sweetness that this particular variety lends to the Mocha is by far the best.

This variety has about 90 calories a cup and about 15 grams of sugar. It is non-GMO, cholesterol free, and fortified with calcium. And it's yummy! :)

How To Make Homemade Nut Milk

Share this page:

Fresh homemade nut milk... so refreshing and so tasty. We use it to make smoothies and healthy berry chocolate shakes. And for anything else we would use milk for. Or just to sip. :)

It's very easy to make nut milk, but having a VitaMix makes it a lot easier.I use walnuts, cashews, or almonds to make nut milk. I always use raw nuts, and I soak them overnight before blending them. Almonds are the hightest in calcium, but you have to strain the milk when you use almonds, so having a nut bag helps tremendously. Adding a few sesame seeds would probably boost the calcium content of walnut or cashew milk if you would like to do that. Then you could have your extra calcium and not have to strain. :)

Homemade nut milk is so frothy, as you can see in the picture. :)

The ratio of nuts to milk that I use is:
1 - 2 cups nuts
to
6-8 cups water

  1. Put all of the water and nuts into the blender and blend for about 2 minutes (using the Vitamix). Blending time will probably be at least twice as long with another blender. You will have to see what your own blender does, and you may need to strain your milk (regardless of the nut used) depending on how well your blender blends.
  2. You can throw in a few dates, date sugar, or stevia to sweeten.

The more nuts and less water you use, the creamier it will be. The less nuts and more water you use, the lighter it will be. Find the consistency you like. Enjoy! :)

God bless!

How to make a super yummy fruit smoothie

Share this page:

With smoothies the sky is the limit. I'll tell you one of my favorite smoothie recipes and give you a few hints I've learned along the way. First of all you need a good blender that will crush ice well. I use a Vitamix. (If you don't have one, click through one of the banners on my blog to get free shipping. Or send me an email and I'll send you the code.) If you add banana to your smoothie gives it a good creamy base. And, my daughter and I both prefer using a tablespoon or two of sugar free orange juice concentrate in our smoothies to give it that added tanginess and sweetness. For a little extra sweetness, some stevia can be used. And, a couple of pieces of ice give a nice thick iciness to the overall drink. But, if all of your fruit is already frozen the ice won't be necessary. So... here is a yummy smoothie recipe for you to try:

This makes one smoothie:
Half a cup to one cup of soy or almond milk (or your fav. milk or milk substitute)
a cup of strawberries
half of a banana
1 tablespoon of sugar free (organic) orange juice concentrate
3-4 ice cubes if fruit is not frozen
a dropperful of NOW organic liquid stevia
half a cup of greens - optional

Blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass. Enjoy! :o)

God bless!

The yummiest chocolate drink ever recipe

Share this page:

This drink is better than a milkshake and better than the store bought chocolate milk with the high fructose syrup in it. This is naturally yummy! This will make 2 servings. You will need:

A blender handy
2 - 2 1/2 cups of the milk of your choice (milk, soy milk, almond milk, rice milk, etc.)
1/4 cup maple syrup, or to taste
1/4 cup walnut pieces
1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
4 ice cubes or 1/2 cup crushed ice

To make:
Add all ingredients to blender. Blend for at least 2 minutes. This will allow the drink to become smooth and the walnuts to emulsify creating that spectacular froth on the top. (Take a look at the pic again. Do you see it?)

You WILL enjoy! :o)

Let me know what you think!

Until next time.... God bless.
